- Results 1st Joint Call for Proposals of the FP7-ERA-Net SUSFOOD
The CEREAL Project as one of the nine projects funded from the first SUSFOOD call was presented. 91 out of the pre-proposals passed the eligibility check and were evaluated based on their relevance compared to the call text, soundness of concept and work plan, impact, quality of project consortium taking into account the European added value and management and budget. The distribution across the three topics of the call was evenly balanced: 37 pre-proposals related to topic 1 "Improving input, waste and side flow strategies to increase resource efficiency and provide added value in food products and food processing, manufacture, reducing input in the food chain"; 31 pre-proposals related to topic 2 "Innovation in food processing technologies and food products to support a sustainable food chain", and 30 pre-proposals related to topic 3 "Understanding consumer behavior to encourage a (more) sustainable food choice". The call was divided into research (academia only) & innovation (industry and academia participation).
The CEREAL project was selected for the topic 1 "Improving input, waste and side flow strategies to increase resource efficiency and provide added value in food products and food processing, manufacture, reducing input in the food chain".

- Final Conference of FP7-ERA-NET-SUSFOOD
Paris, October 20th-22nd, 2014
Susfood organised a final event composed of a conference and the last governing board meeting. One day and a half out of 20th, 21st and 22nd October 2014, during the SIAL 2014 exhibition.
CEREAL Project Coordinator was presenting on behalf of all CEREAL partners, the project at the SUSFOOD Final Conference in Paris, at the Exhibition Centre of Paris-Nord Villepinte.

- CEREAL Kick-off meeting in Madrid

The CEREAL Project´s kick-off meeting was organised to discuss activities proposed in the project, to work out issues of the Working Plan for the first year of the project, to detail possible ways for successful implementation of the communication plan, to appoint the Project Management Committee and to plan the next meeting for the year 2015. The next meeting will be held in Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland) in August 2015.
The Cereal Kick-off meeting took place at the National institute for agricultutal and food research and technology (INIA) in Madrid.

- 2nd CEREAL Meeting in Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland)

The meeting took place at the Lappeenranta University of Technology. It was attended by all members of the Consortium and exhibition project progress by the principal investigators of each subproject collaborating in the project: Institute of chemistry and technology of polymers-CNR, Lappeenranta University of Technology-LUT, Fraunhofer-Institut für Verfahrenstechnik und Verpackung-IVV, Aachen University- RWTH, Luleå University of Technology-LTU, Universidad de Alcalá-UAH, Instituto Nacional de Investigación y Tecnología Agraria y Alimentaria -INIA-SGIT and European Reference Laboratory for Pesticide Residue Analysis for Fruits and Vegetables & Universidad de Almería-EURL-FV&UAL. The results obtained in the first year of project execution and deliverables planned in the work plan were presented.

- SUSFOOD Status Seminar.
(Brussels, October 13rd, 2015)
For the Status Seminar, researchers, project managers and policy makers gathered in Brussels. The main objective of this Status Seminar was not only to provide an overview and update of the outcomes of the FP7 SUSFOOD ERA-Net, but even more to get prepared for the future as ERA-Net Cofund under Horizon 2020. The CEREAL Project Coordinator presented on October 13 th, on behalf of all members of CEREAL, the project progress in SUSFOOD Conference in Brussels.

- 3rd CEREAL Meeting at the Fraunhofer Institute for Process engineering and Packaging IVV (Germany).
(Freising, September 27th-28th 2016)
The meeting took place at the Fraunhofer Institute for Process engineering and Packaging IVV.
